There are many choices for families looking for communities in the greater Phoenix area offering recreation, activities, and beautiful surroundings.  Over the next several posts I’ll briefly describe a few of these master planned communities that I recently visited located in the West Valley area.  First up:

ESTRELLA

Estrella is conveniently located off of the new 303 freeway in Goodyear in a beautiful, mountainous area.  Estrella boasts two lakes with free water activities such as sailing and paddle boating for residents.  In addition to the beautiful scenery of the lakes, Estrella has a community center, the Starpointe Residents Club.  There is a great gym, lap pool, outdoor pool with water slides for the kids, exercise classes and daycare and more.  There are plenty of hiking, walking and biking trails plus golf for those preferring outdoor activities and many options for the perfect home.

I highly recommend going to the Information Center as your first stop in Estrella.  Here you’ll get an overview of the community areas in a special room with a relief map and a personal tour by the representatives.  I spoke to June who has lived in Estrella for many years.  She will point out the various areas, give you brochures and maps and will give you an overview of the excellent schools located in the community.  The schools are part of the Liberty school district and are very highly rated.

With a wide range of home prices and home builders, interested buyers can choose between a new home or a resale home.  There are many model homes to visit that can give you an idea of what would work for you.  There are also plans to build another community center further down on Estrella Parkway that will have a pool, a wine bar and more.

In my next post, I will go through Estrella with a little more detail on the housing prices and builders.  There is also an active adult community, Canta Mia, located in Estrella.  I’ll be writing about the active adult communities in future blogs.

If anyone is considering moving or knows someone wanting to relocate to Arizona, I’d be glad to offer information or discuss the various communities.
