Buckeye, AZ is at the western reaches of the Phoenix metro area.  Buckeye has a variety of housing options ranging from family friendly communities to active adult developments.  In this article I’m going to highlight two of the latest developments.

If you’re from another state and are nostalgic for a small town feel with tree lined streets and craftsman style homes, then you’ll love Verrado.  Verrado is located off Highway 10 in Buckeye and you’ll think you’ve stepped back in time when visiting this development.  There is a quaint “downtown” area where there are some stores, banks, restaurants and a large park area in the center of the square.  This is also where the community center with the swimming pool and gym are located.  There is a beautiful information center located here as well that can orient a visitor to what Verrado has to offer.  There is also a golf course and a great restaurant located near the course with beautiful views.  Since its inception, Verrado has expanded to incorporate new areas and new homes further away from the central area.  The current areas are Main Street and the Heritage District.  Several homebuilders in these areas offer a variety of models and prices ranging from the $200’s to $300’s +.

A lot of excitement is building around the anticipated new active adult community that will be located in Verrado.  This development will be called Victory and homes will be available at the beginning of 2015.  This promises to have a large selection of first phase homebuilders and price ranges.  Victory will have its own facilities, gym and golf course separate from the main Verrado area.

The already existing active adult community in Buckeye is Sun City Festival build along the Del Webb style of developments.  This development has approximately 1800+ current homes but new home are currently being built and this area will continue to grow for several more years.  Sun City Festival has been voted the best 55+ community and has a lot to offer its residents.  There’s a beautiful gym, swimming pool, golf course, restaurant and so many activities that it would be difficult to find time to do them all.  Many varieties of crafts are also offered in a beautiful, new craft building housing a woodworking studio, ceramics, and glassworks.  There is also a softball field and the SC Festival team competes with other local teams.  The houses here are all one story and a new model park has recently been opened with new, updated floor plans.

Anyone that would enjoy being out of the crowded, urban areas of Phoenix and its surrounding suburbs will find Buckeye to be a refreshing and inviting place to live.
